Activated carbon is a kind of black powder, granular or pelletized amorphous carbon with porous structure. Its main component is carbon, and it also contains a small amount of oxygen, hydrogen, sulfur, nitrogen and chlorine. The main raw materials of activated carbon can be almost all organic materials rich in carbon, such as coal, wood, shell, etc. These carbonaceous materials are transformed into activated carbon by pyrolysis at high temperature and under certain pressure in an activation furnace. In this activation process, huge surface area and complex pore structure are gradually formed, and the so-called adsorption process is carried out in these pores and on the surface.
